Poles nominated to the list of the Eventex 100 Most Influential People in the Event Industry


As many as 18 people from Poland, including a Poland Convention Bureau POT representative, have been nominated to the "Eventex Index 2022 - Top 100 Most Influential People in the Event Industry 2022" list created by the Eventex Awards competition organisers. It will include the most influential people in the Event Industry.

The historic Main Post Office – a hotel with an idea and background full of history


The former Main Post Office in the centre of Kraków, a beautiful and iconic building standing vacant for years, will soon gain a new life and become a hotel. There are also plans to open the hotel to residents and tourists, for example through a public observation deck on the roof, an open bar, a restaurant, a post office history corner, and concert and conference rooms.

The EANS European Congress of Neurosurgery will take place in 2028 in Kraków


Thanks to the efforts of the Polish Society of Neurosurgeons (PTN), supported by PCO Symposium Cracoviense, the annual congress of the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies -EANS, which gathers over 2,000 delegates from around the world, will be held in Poland for the first time in 2028.

Kraków in the Board of Directors of the League of Historical Cities!


On November 14–16, 2022, the Korean City of Andong hosted the 18th edition of the World Conference of the Historical Cities, devoted to the topic: ‘Future-Oriented Historical City Based on Community’. Kraków was represented by Katarzyna Piotrowska, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and National Heritage. During the Conference, the Mayor of Kraków, Jacek Majchrowski, was elected to the Board of Directors of the League of Historical Cities for the 2022–2026 term.

Kraków Chamber of Tourism awarded


A conference to mark the 30th anniversary of the Kraków Chamber of Tourism was held on 7 October at the Conference and Exhibition Centre at Kościuszko Mound. During the event, the Mayor of Kraków presented the Chamber with the distinction ‘Wizard of Kraków Tourism’, which acknowledges the Chamber’s commitment to local tourism development. The Chamber is the first ever to receive this award.

Short-term tourist rentals – the European Commission’s position


Kraków is a member of the European Alliance of Cities, which covers such cities as Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Paris, Prague, Vienna and Warsaw. Our city is working to normalise the phenomenon of short-term tourist rentals.

Warsaw and Kraków in the Kongress Magazine ranking


Warsaw and Kraków received high ratings in the cyclical MEETINGS STAR report published by Kongress Magazine. Warsaw was ranked seventh and Kraków ninth. The top three were Athens, Prague and Budapest.
