Unique meeting

The Federation of Polish Medical Organisations Abroad is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. On this occasion, the Congress of the Polish Medical Society, organised in Poland every few years, is coming to Krakow in September. It will be a special largescale event welcoming doctors representing the Polish community from all over world for three days.

Dr. Kornelia Król, President of the Foundation of Polish Medical Organisations, says that “Although we live our everyday lives so far from Poland, our hearts beat in the same rhythm, we feel united with our homeland and happy to return to our country. That's why the upcoming Congress of the Polish Medical Society also has a sentimental value.

Exciting race

To address global trends and challenges facing the world of medicine and science, the organisers have decided to dedicate this year's meeting to the theme of “Medicine – a race against time”, which will be an opportunity to look to the future, and consider futuristic technologies and the role of artificial intelligence in treating people.

The international group of experts will be able to discuss the topic from a variety of perspectives to better understand the global trend determining our daily lives. The scientific part of the programme consists of about 25 sessions and panels on key trends in modern medicine, with the participants representing renowned medical centres from all over the world. This year, for the first time, young doctors and medical adepts (final-year medical students) were also invited to participate.

A wealth of experience guaranteed

The Polish Community Abroad is attached to Polish cultural heritage, art and culture. To emphasise this bond, in addition to exploring the scientific side of the event, the participants will have the opportunity to experience magical stories of Krakow. To supplement the event programme, the organisers have prepared a series of events. Visits to breathtaking sites in the capital of Malopolska and its vicinity make for a unique experience. The Opening Gala at the Krakow Opera House and its rich artistic programme will officially kick off the visit of doctors representing the Polish Community Abroad, whose hearts are still close to Poland. A less formal integration will be an evening at the Old Depot, to find space for strengthening ties and networking. The entire congress will close with a Gala Dinner prepared at the Wieliczka Salt Mine.
