Targi w Krakowie received the Honorary Diploma of the Józef Dietl Award
On May 27 this year, during the ceremonial Józef Dietl Award Gala held at the Krzysztofory Palace in Kraków, Targi w Krakowie were honored with the Award’s Honorary Diploma, granted by the Józef Dietl Foundation.
The award, established in 2008, aims to recognize individuals and institutions working for the common good, for Kraków and the Małopolska region, as well as those distinguished by their civic and patriotic attitudes. The Honorary Diploma is dedicated to non-governmental organizations, companies, and state and local government institutions.
In the laudation delivered during the gala, the Rector of the Jagiellonian University, Prof. Piotr Jedynak, emphasized the exceptional role of Targi w Krakowie in building the city’s standing: “Targi w Krakowie is more of a city-shaping project than one of many well-prospering enterprises in Poland.”
Upon receiving the distinction, the President of Targi w Krakowie, Ewa Woch, said:
“I am surprised and very proud, as this is a strictly Kraków-based award—granted in Kraków, for the people of Kraków, and by the people of Kraków. It is an extremely important recognition of 30 years of our work for the city, the region, and the promotion of Kraków. Looking back over these three decades, it is hard to believe how much we have managed to achieve. We are deeply grateful to the Award Committee for recognizing our efforts and the work of the entire Targi w Krakowie team.”
For three decades, Targi w Krakowie have been organizing international events that attract hundreds of exhibitors and tens of thousands of visitors from Poland and abroad each year, supporting both the economic development and promotion of Kraków and the Małopolska region.
This year, the Józef Dietl Award was granted to the outstanding artist, stage designer, costume designer, actress, and Honorary Citizen of Kraków – Krystyna Zachwatowicz-Wajda. Honorary Diplomas were also awarded to the Małopolska Lung Diseases and Rehabilitation Hospital named after Edmund Wojtyła in Jaroszowiec, and the St. Padre Pio Aid Foundation.
