The travel portal Tourlane has published a ranking of the most beautiful historic centers in Europe. Krakow topped the list, with its Old Town being recognized for its unique cultural values and atmosphere conducive to discovering the city's history at every turn.
According to the authors of the list:
"Krakow's Old Town is a real treasure trove of monuments, housing an impressive number of attractions in a surprisingly small area. This makes it easy to explore on foot. From the Main Market Square with its historic Cloth Hall, a short walk leads to St. Mary's Basilica. The road to Wawel Castle leads through charming streets full of cafes. Warsaw also made it into the top ten, making Poland one of the highest-ranked countries in the list.
The Tourlane ranking was based on an analysis of 65 cities, taking into account, among other things, historical and cultural significance, the age of the city center, popularity on social media, and ease of exploration on foot.
This is further confirmation that Krakow's Old Town not only delights with its beauty, but also remains one of the most important points on the tourist map of Europe.
