We are honoured to announce that on 27 May 2026, Kraków will host the gala celebrating the first-ever nationwide selection of the prestigious MICHELIN Guide for Poland. This is a breakthrough moment for the country’s culinary scene, Polish cities, including Kraków, have for years advocated for Poland to be fully included in the Michelin selection. The event will further strengthen our city’s position as an important culinary tourism destination in Europe.
The MICHELIN Guide, published globally since 1900, is considered the most influential reference in the gastronomic world, and MICHELIN Stars remain the highest international symbol of culinary excellence and craftsmanship. Until now, the guide has primarily evaluated restaurants in selected cities and regions such as Warsaw, Poznań, Kraków, Wrocław, and the Pomeranian Voivodeship. In 2026, for the first time, the selection will cover the entire country, including both major cities and smaller centres, allowing the full spectrum of Poland’s culinary landscape to be showcased.
During the ceremonial gala in Kraków, we will learn which restaurants are distinguished in the MICHELIN Guide, including:
MICHELIN inspectors evaluate restaurants based on ingredient quality, harmony of flavours and the chef’s personality, allowing both small local eateries and venues offering refined dining experiences to be recognised.
The organisation of MICHELIN Guide Poland is carried out in cooperation with the Polish Tourism Organisation and confirms the dynamic development of Polish gastronomy and the growing importance of Poland on Europe’s culinary map.
Hosting this historic event is Kraków—a city that blends local traditions with contemporary culinary trends, offering a wide range of diverse gastronomic experiences. The event may contribute to promoting culinary tourism both in the city and nationwide, increasing foreign visitor numbers, boosting the premium tourism segment and encouraging investment in the hospitality and gastronomy sector. At the same time, it supports the promotion of local products and regional culinary traditions, while distinguished restaurants may experience a surge in reservations—sometimes by several dozen percent.
This is an exceptional moment for Polish and European gastronomy, particularly significant for industry partners, representatives of the HoReCa sector (hotels, restaurants, catering), and the broader tourism industry.
The event’s partner is the Kraków Tourism Alliance.
