The 10th edition of the Central European Congress of Life Sciences – EUROBIOTECH 2026 will take place on July 2–3, 2026, at EXPO Kraków. Organized by Targi w Krakowie and held in cooperation with the Małopolska Centre of Biotechnology of the Jagiellonian University, the event has for years been one of the most important platforms for exchanging knowledge and experience between the scientific community and the business sector. The congress’s international character attracts experts, researchers, and biotechnology industry representatives from across Europe, creating space for the development of innovation, technology transfer, and new partnerships.
The jubilee edition promises to be remarkable. Over two days, participants will be able to listen to 150 speakers from Poland and abroad, presenting during 47 parallel sessions, including plenary sessions. Such an extensive program makes EUROBIOTECH 2026 in Kraków one of the largest and most comprehensive life sciences events in Central Europe.
10 years of building bridges between science and the biotechnology industry
Since its launch in 2007, EUROBIOTECH has consistently strengthened its role as a meeting place for scientists, entrepreneurs, and representatives of institutions supporting innovation. The congress is recognized as a platform that supports translational research and the effective implementation of scientific results into business practice.
Co-organization with the Małopolska Centre of Biotechnology of the Jagiellonian University highlights the high scientific level of the event and its strong ties with one of the most important academic centers in Central Europe.
This year’s program has been designed to present the latest scientific achievements and technologies that are already shaping the future of medicine, industry, and environmental protection.
Among the most interesting topics that will be discussed are:
AI-based tools and big data analysis are playing an increasingly important role in biological research. Participants will learn about applications of AI in diagnostics, drug design, and genetic and molecular data analysis.
One of the most futuristic topics will be space biotechnology. Sessions will demonstrate how research conducted in space conditions can influence advances in medicine, food production, and new materials on Earth.
Experts will discuss modern methods of designing and modifying proteins used in medicine, the pharmaceutical industry, and diagnostics—an area that has been rapidly developing thanks to advances in molecular biology and computational technologies.
In the face of climate challenges, solutions supporting sustainable development are becoming increasingly important. The congress will present innovative methods for environmental remediation, the use of microorganisms, and biotechnological solutions for industry and agriculture.
Topics related to biotransformations and the use of enzymes in industrial production are also gaining attention, enabling more efficient and environmentally friendly technological processes.
One of the pillars of EUROBIOTECH remains cooperation between academia and business. Following the success of previous editions, organizers are expanding the program segment dedicated to commercial research, technology transfer, and commercialization of research results.
The congress will create a unique space for meetings between representatives of universities, research institutes, technology startups, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, as well as investors interested in developing the life sciences sector.
International participants and new opportunities for cooperation
Each year, EUROBIOTECH attracts participants from many countries across Europe and beyond. As a result, the event becomes a platform for exchanging experiences, presenting the latest scientific achievements, and initiating international research projects.
For young scientists, participation offers the opportunity to present their own research, gain knowledge from world-class experts, and build networks essential for academic and professional career development.
