The power of diversity. August is marked by Kraków Culture Summer

Until August 29, the Henryk Jordan Park will host events prepared by organisers of Krakow festivals and institutions. Krakow Culture Summer combines various summer attractions in the unique space of one of the most popular parks in Krakow. We still have a large number of cultural events and concerts ahead of us – from classical music, through pop and jazz, to electronics and film music.

Throughout August, Krakow favourite park is the most important address on the cultural map of the capital of Małopolska. Krakow Culture Summer is a frame that brings together unique events that manifest the richness and diversity of Krakow culture. The event that dominated the cultural scene in August in Krakow is a phenomenon that happened in the capital of Małopolska for the first time. Behind us, among others, is the Summer Jazz Festival, AudioArt and theatre performances, but there are still many attractions ahead of us, including concerts as part of the Film Music Festival in Krakow, Etno Krakow/Crossroads, and the Beaty and Bajm concert.

Krakow institutions and non-governmental organisations were involved in creating the program of events under a common umbrella, including: Krakowskie Forum Kultury, Sinfonietta Cracovia, Cracovia Danza, Teatr Bagatela, Teatr Ludowy, Teatr Groteska, and Piwnica pod Baranami. Krakow Culture Summer also includes concerts prepared by the flagship Krakow festivals: Unsound, Summer Jazz Festival, Audio Art Festival, EtnoKraków/Crossroads, Film Music Festival or Wianki – Music Festival. The production of events, services and organisation are provided by KBF and the Krakow Culture Forum, whereas the space is provided by the City Greenery Authority. Thus, both Krakow Culture Summer and the individual initiatives it comprises are part of Krakow policy as an initiator, but also as an organiser of the creative events.

The new cultural policy of the City of Krakow Culture focusses on even closer cooperation of various institutions in creating an offer tailored to the needs of various recipients, but also within the framework of individual seasons. The pandemic has proved how important cooperation is. And how the role of shared, safe and multi-functional spaces grows. I am grateful to all the program partners, thanks to whom we can offer a rich, diverse program that reveals a new fantastic space to all residents spending the summer in Krakow and all those who are tempted by the attractions we provide.  Thanks to good cooperation, the events will be organised for Krakow residents in terms of production by KBF, the City Greenery Authority and the Krakow Culture Forum - says Jacek Majchrowski, Mayor of the City of Krakow.

Summer weekends with culture in the Henryk Jordan Park is the perfect recipe for a holiday. For years, we have focussed in Krakow on cooperation and partnerships, hence the co-creation of the program by artists representing various trends and the co-creation of the Krakow Culture season: Summer through city festivals: EtnoKraków/Rozstaje, Unsound, Summer Jazz Festiwal, Wianki. Święto Muzyki, FMF, as well as key municipal institutions are an emanation of many years of activities undertaken by the City of Krakow in the field of creating a well-thought-out cultural and tourist offer.

We want to create a fantastic atmosphere in the new scenery of green Krakow, and to bet on a zone of vivid experience of culture in a friendly space, in a festive mood and, above all, to do it safely. In this way, we want to encourage residents of Krakow to discover new places and artistic ideas in the August edition, and to give those who plan a weekend in our city an unforgettable experience and a key to the richness of Krakow culture. Let the cultural summer be remembered by the inhabitants of Krakow for a long time! - adds Robert Piaskowski, the Mayor’s Plenipotentiary for Culture

Krakow Culture Summer takes place in the Henryk Jordan Park, and there are still two weekends ahead of us, full of various cultural events. The Krakow Culture Summer program includes both ticketed and free events.
