8th Polish Congress of Entrepreneurship

DRAWING FROM THE PAST FOR A BETTER FUTURE

The 8th Polish Congress of Entrepreneurship was held from 5 to 7 October in Krakow. This year, the event began with study visits, so that the participants of the Congress could learn about all the new projects implemented in the city.

On the 5th of October, at 9:00 a.m., the inauguration ceremony of the VIII Polish Congress of Entrepreneurship commenced at the ICE Congress Centre in Krakow. The special, double 8th edition of the Congress included over 20 discussion panels and hosted over 150 speakers and 2,000 participants. Thanks to modern technologies and online broadcasts, the event was viewed by tens of thousands of people.

During the event, the most important issues concerning the Polish and world economy were discussed. An important aspect of this year's Congress was also broadly understood to be culture, which, as a foundation for the proper functioning of economic sectors, has become one of the permanent subjects of annual meetings.

The Congress has had a real influence on the activities of Polish entrepreneurs, scientists and local government officials for 9 years. Economic development, investments, innovations and new projects increase the prestige of the Polish Congress of Entrepreneurship. The interdisciplinary approach gives a chance for real effects and influences the commercialisation of research and of the partners' activities. The Polish Enterprise Agency is a consultant in the Directorate General for Research and Innovation at the European Commission, and establishes consortia, supports the synergy of science and business, and develops entrepreneurship by stimulating the economy. The Agency cooperates with the Chambers of Commerce and is planning in the future to open a special unit – an office lobbying scientific and research projects in Brussels. All these activities have created the community of the Polish Congress of Entrepreneurship, which brings together several thousand entities.

Over the years, the Polish Congress of Entrepreneurship becomes the most newsworthy congress in Poland, and thanks to its bridging of divides, it is also one of the most cited events in the national media.

Organisers are invited by regions to present their economic potential or investment opportunities. Throughout all these years, it has been possible to demonstrate the importance of the interdisciplinary approach, combining tradition, modernity and mutual support – a combination that yields the best results.

Facing the challenge of rebuilding the global economy, events such as the Polish Congress of Entrepreneurship provide real support to entrepreneurs and can be considered the beginning of a new chapter.
