On 6 December 2023, the Krakow City Council passed a resolution adopting and implementing the Sustainable Mobility Plan for the Krakow Metropolis and its functional area.
The document provides a coherent course of action in the field of sustainable mobility, pursuing the main goal of ensuring a sustainable and end-user-friendly transportation system, taking into account the balanced development of all forms of mobility. It also organises issues related to sustainable mobility in the municipalities covered by the plan.
As a result, this should lead to a reduction in emissions of harmful substances (particulate matter) and greenhouse gases (CO2) from the transportation system.
The Sustainable Mobility Plan for the Krakow Metropolis and its functional area will soon be submitted to other municipalities. Implementation of the document’s objectives will allow the 36 municipalities covered by this plan to work together, aimed at ensuring that residents can move around the area in a sustainable and efficient manner.
