Bus stops, bicycle infrastructure and P+R sites – open data published by the Public Transport Authority

The “Open Data” tab can now be found on the website of the Public Transport Authority (ZTP) in Krakow. All users can browse information related to the authority's operations. The database will be reviewed and updated on an ongoing basis.

‘We want the operations of the city and its institutions to be as transparent as possible and understandable to residents. This also means easy and quick access to the city’s data, so I'm glad that ZTP addressed this need and allowed easy access to information on the city infrastructure that they operate,’ says Mayor Aleksander Miszalski.

In accordance with the General Transit Feed Specifications (GTFS), ZTP now provides data on timetables and current locations of most vehicles within the Krakow Public Transport system. The ZTP website also shows the current availability of some of the P+R sites.

Users can now do their various analyses or studies by downloading data such as the locations of the City Information System carriers, bicycle racks, bus shelters, and mobility points, and also KMK ticket zones, Paid Parking Zones, the City Information System area or a map of pedestrian access to stops, with distances and travel times between various points and stops.

ZTP also plans to expand the database to include more information on its activities, such as KMK vehicles and the number of passengers currently carried in KMK vehicles. All this information can be downloaded in various formats from the ArcGIS Hub platform.

The published data is part of the Geographic Information System (GIS), implemented by ZTP since 2021, and used in our daily work to collect, process, and analyze spatial data, and to support planning, installation and maintenance tasks.
