Symposium Cracoviense, a PCO present on the Polish market for over 26 years, has received the prestigious Green Meetings Bronze Award. This is an exceptional achievement, as the company is the first Polish enterprise internationally recognised for its contribution to sustainable development.
The Green Meetings Bronze Award is awarded by Green Tourism – the world’s largest sustainability accreditation programme for the tourism and hospitality sector - and serves as proof that Symposium Cracoviense implements and promotes the highest green standards in the meetings and events industry. The award is valid for three years, and is a testament to the company’s ongoing commitment to caring for the planet, society and the future of the industry.
Green Meetings is an innovative certification programme launched in 2021 by Green Tourism, dedicated exclusively to the meetings and events industry. The award process requires a comprehensive audit and assessment of the enterprise’s actions with reference to internationally recognised standards, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The process undergoes independent verification of experts who have a good understanding of the challenges faced by the tourism and hospitality industry. A company's activities are assessed in the areas of:
Communication and awareness
Community
Health and wellbeing
Equality, diversity and inclusivity
F&B and biodiversity
Energy and water
Waste, CO2 emissions and chemicals
The Green Meetings Bronze Award is confirmation that sustainable development is an integral part of the awarded entity’s activity. Awarded companies and institutions engage in practices that not only protect the environment, but also strengthen their reputation, are cost-efficient, and ensure a competitive edge.
Green Tourism, which is in the DNA of Symposium Cracoviense, promotes a greener approach to business by offering members advice and support on sustainability best practices, from ethical purchasing to efficient management of energy consumption.
“Receiving the Green Meetings Bronze Award is not only something to be proud of, but also a commitment to continually promote and implement sustainability measures, key aspects of which include environmental protection, social justice and economic growth,” said Anna Jędrocha, CEO of Symposium Cracoviense.
