The multifunctional International Exhibition and Convention Center EXPO Krakow has the capacity to host a variety of events. Since 2014, it has been a venue for organizing now highly renowned events, such as the Book Fair in Krakow, the KRAKDENT and the HORECA Fair, the LNE Congress and fair trade LNE or the TATTOOFEST Tattoo Festival. For a centre offering one of the largest exhibition spaces in Poland, operating in accordance with the principles of sustainable development is simply a necessity! Katarzyna Marciszyn, Head of the Sales and Rental Department, will tell us what solutions and ideas EXPO Krakow is implementing.

In operation for eight years, ICE Krakow has become a permanent part of the urban landscape and in the calendar of business and cultural events in Krakow. Solutions and ideas for organising meetings in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will be presented by Paula Fanderowska, Vice President of Krakow5020, the facility's operator.

The 'Wide open for sustainable meetings' thematic series touches upon numerous issues related to the implementation of green solutions in Krakow’s tourism industry, as well as on a much wider scale – sustainable development of the city. Materials, among others on the MINEV project, the goal of which is to limit the amount of waste generated during large events, as well as on the Festivals for Climate initiative, as available on our website and social media.

The ICCA, together with the GDS movement, has produced a summary of the Krakow congress in terms of organising events in the spirit of sustainability. The total tCO2e carbon footprint of the event was t2079.35 (which is 3053.38 kg CO2e per participant), which is similar to the carbon footprint generated by an average passenger car over a period of two years.
