Mercure Krakow Fabryczna City receives Green Key Certificate
The Mercure Krakow Fabryczna City hotel, a part of Accor Group, has joined a small group of hotels in Poland with Green Key certification. Green Key is an international certification programme for tourist facilities that meet international criteria for environmental responsibility, fostering environmental awareness among consumers and employees, and cooperation with the local community. It is a promise given by hotels to their guests that a particular facility will take steps to protect the environment.

Mercure Krakow Fabryczna City continuously works to implement sustainability initiatives, and focuses on three main aspects:
– Environmentally friendly hotel stays: with the entire operation of the hotel in mind, we always seek new ways to reduce the level of greenhouse gas emissions and implement the principles of a closed-loop economy; the hotel uses clean energy sources, saves water by using greywater, saves electricity by installing detectors in common spaces, and has eliminated single-use plastic.
– Responsible food management: the Destilo restaurant at the hotel relies on locally sourced ingredients, and does so purposefully to waste as few ingredients as possible. The size of plates has also been reduced to limit food waste, at the same time encouraging guests to use the buffets more often and more consciously.
– Culture partners: The Mercure Krakow Fabryczna City hotel is like a bridge that brings guests to the history of the place and the local community. The hotel encourages cooperation with local artists, and raises cultural awareness among its guests and employees, who are often involved in preparing and holding various events. The main goal is to foster the development of local communities by establishing mutual long-term relations, and promoting their art among both guests and the local community itself.
Mercure Krakow Fabryczna City, located in the Fabryczna 13 complex and managed by F.R.B Inter-Bud, opened in autumn 2021 on the premises of the former Polmos Vodka factory. Since it opened, it has placed particular emphasis on ecology. The hotel is equipped with state-of-the-art solutions to minimise energy consumption, and adverse the impact on the environment. It is located in an area that recently obtained a BREEAM certificate.
