Krakow – the perfect place for a city break
In an online competition announced by Travelist.pl for the best destinations for an autumn city break, Krakow was selected as a runner-up. First place went to Gdańsk, followed closely by Krakow and Wrocław.
The following cities competed for the title of the most beautiful destination for a city break: Krakow, Warsaw, Gdańsk, Wrocław, Poznań, Toruń, Lublin, Łódź, Sopot, Kołobrzeg, Zamość, Olsztyn, Szczecin, Białystok, Bydgoszcz, Katowice, Jelenia Góra, Rzeszów, Gdynia and Bielsko-Biała.
The nominations for these 20 destinations came from experts working with Travelist magazine, but the final selection was made by Internet users in an online vote.
There was also a second category in the Travelist.pl ranking – ‘the most atmospheric towns.’ Here the winners were: Sandomierz, Kazimierz Dolny and Reszel, with the following cities competing for the title: Sandomierz, Kazimierz Dolny, Zwierzyniec, Zakopane, Trzebiatów, Tykocin, Reszel, Chojnice, Gniew, Nałęczów, Krynica-Zdrój, Świeradów-Zdrój, Ustka, Biecz, Bystrzyca Kłodzka, Chełmno, Szydłów, Supraśl, Darłowo and Cieszyn.
The polls closed on 13 October, with cash prizes available for those who voted.
