Krakow hosts Decarb Cities 2025 conference

On May 13 and 14, Krakow will become the venue for an important event of international stature dedicated to the decarbonization of heating and cooling in European cities - the Decarb Cities 2025 conference. It is addressed primarily to representatives of local governments, but also to representatives of institutions or companies that already now or in the coming years will face challenges in this area.

The main organizer of Decarb Cities 2025 is the European Heat Pump Association. The City of Krakow, the Polish Heat Pump Technology Development Organization and the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow are also involved in the preparations.

The conference will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders, from city representatives and decision-makers from Poland and abroad, to industry experts, scientists and entrepreneurs, so that during the two-day meeting they can jointly analyze a key topic: the transition to carbon-neutral urban heating and cooling systems.

The organizers particularly encourage representatives of local governments, including the heads of Polish cities and municipalities, for whom participation in Decarb Cities 2025 is free. They guarantee that the conference will be an excellent opportunity for them to expand their knowledge, get inspired and make extensive contacts. Decision makers, industry experts, researchers and representatives of cities from different regions of Europe will meet in Krakow precisely to discuss innovative solutions, proven strategies and real-life examples of investments in the area of decarbonization. And at the same time - to facilitate the exchange of experiences and to promote and strengthen regional and sectoral cooperation.

Special attention will be given to the role of innovative solutions and the implementation of best practices to effectively replace fossil fuel heating with heat pump technology and other renewable technologies. The topic of financing the energy transition will also be discussed. Scalable and integrated solutions that reduce energy demand at the same time will be presented.

The entire conference will be translated into Polish.
The program of the two-day conference includes:

Panel discussions on local, regional and European approaches to urban decarbonization
Insights into funding opportunities and the role of the European Union in supporting the energy transition of cities
Engaging sessions for participants, such as the World Café, where they will be able to exchange ideas on shaping energy strategies for cities and practical tools to facilitate their implementation
A study visit dedicated to a unique heat pump installation at the National Archives in Krakow - this is an energy-efficient building using a ground source heat pump installation.

Participants will also have the opportunity to learn about Krakow's rich heritage during a tour of the Old Town and attend a gala dinner at the historic magistrate's residence of the Wielopolski Palace.

For local government representatives, participation in the Decarb Cities 2025 conference is free. However, registration is then required by selecting the Policy makers category. Register now!
