Finding accommodation in Krakow has just become easier thanks to the dedicated browser: Krakowskie Obiekty Noclegowe (eKON).

On 27 June 2022, the Union of International Associations (UIA) published its ‘63 International Meetings Statistics Report’, which rated 96 cities from around the world in 2021. Poland retained its position from the previous year, and Warsaw took the highest place among Polish cities, i.e. 39th place, with 23 meetings, followed by Krakow in 43rd place (21 meetings). In the ranking of the 52 European cities, Polish metropolises occupied 22nd (Warsaw) and 26th (Krakow) places.

A visit to Krakow is an excellent holiday idea! This time readers of the American magazine Travel + Leisure are in agreement on this point. The capital of the Małopolska region reached 9th place in the ranking of cities worth visiting in Europe.

The Alliance of European Cities – of which Krakow is a member alongside Paris, Barcelona, Berlin, Vienna, Brussels, Munich, Prague and Lyon – issued a letter to commissioners calling for a legislative bill to be submitted to the European Parliament this year that would regulate short-term holiday rentals (STHR). European parliamentarians also supported the letter. 

Krakow is one of the three Polish cities that The Guardian encourages its readers to visit. According to the British daily, a holiday in Poland is also a good way to support the country, which is so committed to helping Ukraine.

During World War I, the army requisitioned a majority of the rooms in Kraków’s hotels; after the end of the war, the economic crisis led to a market crash in tourism that resulted in a decline of the hotel industry. The Kraków hotel base shrank considerably.

Great news! Kraków among the finalists of the first edition of the European Mission Awards in the ”Best Mice Destination” category! 

In June, 718,662 passengers used #KrakowAirport services, which means 4% less than in June 2019, but 255% more than in June 2021! Altogether, we have served 3,191,730 passengers since the beginning of 2022!

The international consulting company GainingEdge has issued a second report devoted to destinations and how they use their intellectual capital via leaders sitting on management boards of international associations. The results of the report are based on in-depth research from publicly available sources about associations and on the analysis of the database of the ICCA International Congress and Convention Association.

The campaign started on 1^st May. It is a joint project of the Małopolska Tourist Organisation, the Małopolska Region and Municipality of Kraków.
