ICE Krakow celebrates its anniversary and sums up 9 years of operation

The ICE Krakow Congress Centre, an integral part of Krakow’s cultural landscape, is celebrating its ninth birthday, remaining at the forefront of venues building the city’s competitive edge. More than 1.5 million participants and 1,300 organised events constitute an impressive balance sheet of nine years of intensive operations.

Meeting place for leading personalities

The ICE Krakow Congress Centre is reaching the end of its ninth year on the market, during which time it has not only become a European leader in the organisation of congresses and cultural events, but also a meeting place for leading personalities, artists and experts from Poland and abroad.

This year alone the venue has hosted such stars as Sanah, Grzegorz Turnau, Lady Pank, Dawid Podsiadło, Marcus Miller, Peter Bence, Varius Manx & Kasia Stankiewicz, Maryla Rodowicz and Leszek Możdżer. The list of the most important guests does not end there. Numerous speakers and participants of conferences and congresses also took the stage at ICE Krakow, including Mark Brzeziński, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Adam Rotfeld, Agnieszka Radwańska, Rafał Brzoska, Rafał Sonik, Krzysztof Zanussi, rectors of Polish universities and a number of world experts in medicine, artificial intelligence, technology and other fields.

Active MICE support and responsible development

ICE Krakow also represents nearly a decade of engaging local MICE representatives in the development of new business models, risk management, innovation and mutual support. Recently, ICE Krakow Congress Centre initiated a new chapter in the pursuit of responsible development by deciding to sign a letter of intent between Izabela Błaszczyk, CEO of Krakow5020 – the operator of ICE Krakow Congress Centre, Paula Fanderowska, Vice-president, and the Carbon Footprint Foundation, with the aim of creating their own ESG policy.

“We don’t just sit back and wait for things to develop. We analyse reports, we consider the best solutions and we try to implement them for ourselves. During the nine years of its existence, ICE Krakow Congress Centre has welcomed more than 1.5 million visitors from all over the world. They ask how they can contribute to looking after the environment, society and their surroundings. The Congress Centre’s ESG policy will allow us to implement the best solutions”, emphasises Izabela Błaszczyk, President of Kraków5020.

Awards and prizes – another chapter of success

In February this year, ICE Krakow also won 1st place for the best-managed Congress Centre in Central and Eastern Europe at the Meeting Star Awards. This is another accolade in an already rich portfolio that includes the Meetings Star Award (for 2015 and 2016), A’Design Award (2015), The Plan Award (2015), Gold Meetings Star (2019, 2020, 2021), MP Power Award (2014, 2017, 2020, 2021) and ICCA Best Marketing Award (2021), among others. As Izabela Błaszczyk, CEO of Krakow5020, the venue’s operator, emphasises: “The award for ICE Krakow is an award for all of us. These are not just words, but the result of nine years of passion and commitment.”
