During the official gala accompanying the Conventa 2026 trade fair, held on 11 February 2026 at the Cankarjev dom Congress Centre in Ljubljana, the results of the Meetings Star Awards 2025/2026 were announced. Kraków won 1st place in the L Meeting Destination category, achieving the highest score of 4.560/5, confirming its position among Europe’s leading meeting destinations.
 

A conference was held at the headquarters of the Central Statistical Office (GUS) in Warsaw with the participation of Ireneusz Raś, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, and Dr hab. Marek Cierpiał-Wolan, President of GUS. During the event, the Tourism Observatory was officially launched, and the latest statistics on tourist traffic in Poland in 2025 were presented.

The year 2025 marked another important stage in Kraków’s development of sustainable tourism, combining the city’s high attractiveness with responsible management of tourist traffic. Tourism in 2025 was treated as an integral part of urban policy—connected with residents’ quality of life, cultural heritage protection, climate, mobility, and economic development.

The letter of intent provides for broad research and development cooperation and the implementation of joint scientific, advisory, educational, and deployment‑oriented initiatives. Its goal is to combine the practical operational, organisational, and business expertise of Kraków Airport with the scientific, expert, and teaching potential of the Cracow University of Technology.

On 28 January, a ceremonial event was held to inaugurate the project “Małopolska – Inspiration for Your Research Journey”, implemented under the NAWA–EURAXESS Network programme. The meeting brought together representatives of the scientific community, research institutions, and public authorities.

The year 2026 in Kraków will be marked by the completion of several important investments long awaited by residents, as well as the launch of new ones aimed at improving the quality of life for Krakowians. Ahead of us are, among others, activities related to preparations for the construction of a metro line, as well as investments from the “Pact for Kraków’s Districts” and the “Da Się!” (It Can Be Done!) initiative. All of this is possible thanks to the investment programme for which the city has allocated more than PLN 1.5 billion in this year's budget — a record amount.
