On December 13, the Krakow City Council Chamber hosted the Tourism Forum – one of the most important events in the calendar of our city’s tourism industry. The December meeting was devoted to tourism market research, current trends in this field, and digital transformation in tourism. The event gathered a wide range of participants: representatives of city authorities, cultural institutions, universities, tourism organizations, and experts and entrepreneurs from the tourism sector.

During the first meeting of the new term, Katarzyna Gądek, Deputy Director of the Department of Promotion and Tourism of the City Council of Krakow, was re-elected as chair of the Tourism Commission.

The negotiation group appointed by the Commission for the Sustainable Night‑Time Economy met in November. The group brings together representatives of informal groups of residents and NGOs, representatives of the City of Krakow, and the Night Mayor. The meeting was also attended by organizers of pub crawls. They were invited to join the discussion on the impact that this type of tour has on the lives of Krakow residents.

The Chapter of the Polish Congress Ambassadors has selected 21 Honorary Polish Congress Ambassadors. On 12 November, prof. dr hab. inż. Marek Pawełczyk, Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, presided over the first meeting of the new chapter, yet again as its chair.

Krakow for the third time was among the 10 cities in the ranking published by the “Discover Cars” platform. This year, the capital of Malopolska was ranked second. Such a high position testifies to the growing popularity of the city among tourists looking for attractive travel destinations for a winter city break.

On 8 December, hundreds of Santa Clauses will once again gather at the entrance to EXPO Krakow at 9 Galicyjska Street, swapping their sleighs for motorcycles. With bags full of gifts, they will set off for the University Children's Hospital. For several years now, Moto-Santa-Clauses have been supported by Targi w Krakowie (Fairs in Krakow), who organise fundraising to buy gifts for the small patients.

On 15 November 2024, delegates from international associations took part in the two-day 18th UIA Round Table Europe in Florence, which was an opportunity to draw attention to the SDGs and the contribution of associations to their achievement, as well as provide a first presentation of the 2024 UIA Survey on International Association Meeting Issues. 

A scientific symposium celebrating 70 years of the Jerzy Maj Institute of Pharmacology of the Polish Academy of Sciences will be held on 2-3 December 2024 in Krakow.

In the latest edition of the ranking of the best cities in the world, prepared by Resonance Consultancy, Kraków was ranked 60th. It is one of two Polish cities included in the list.

On Saturday, November 23, at the Kraków airport, Mr. Mateusz was welcomed, who returned from his honeymoon to Tokyo with his wife. Mr. Mateusz is the 10 millionth passenger served by Kraków Airport this year. The guest was officially welcomed by the airport management, city and province authorities, and invited guests. The event was also an opportunity for the Minister of Infrastructure, Mr. Dariusz Klimczak, and the President of Kraków Airport, Mr. Łukasz Strutyński, to present the airport's development plans for the coming years.
