Sustainable development is one of the key goals that have been gaining increasing recognition among Krakow companies in recent years. The distinguished companies and facilities are primarily hotels and companies operating in the tourism industry.

From 10-13 March 2025, the historic city of Krakow will host the LRE Forum 2025, the LRE Foundation's annual event that brings together members, partners, and tourism professionals to network with WWII-related organizations, explore travel trade opportunities, and gain fresh perspective on the WWII heritage sector. The event is organized by the LRE Foundation in collaboration with LRE Poland and the City of Krakow.

Conventa 2025 – one of the most important events of the meetings industry in New Europe – took place on 18-20 February 2025 in Ljubljana. This prestigious event brings together event, congress and incentive tourism organizers, providing an excellent opportunity to establish new business contacts and share best practices in event organization. This year, the organizers have prepared a unique program, with a special emphasis on sustainable development and ecological responsibility.

On February 15, 2025, the Promotional Support Program for Meetings and Events (PPWdSW) is launched, initiated and coordinated by the Poland Convention Bureau - Meetings and Events Bureau of the Polish Tourism Organization (PCB POT). The aim of the POT is to implement a cyclical program for the promotion of Poland in the event of acquiring and organizing promotional events carried out by external entities.

In August 2024, Jacek Jordan took office as Kraków’s first and Poland’s second Night Mayor. At the same time, the Commission for Sustainable Night Economy was established under the Mayor of Kraków. It is composed of representatives of informal residents' groups, NGOs, the tourism industry, business owners, city officials, and municipal units. Acting as an advisory body, the commission presents its proposals to the Mayor in the form of resolutions, with the Night Mayor serving as its chair.

The theme of this year's event will be Tourism in the sustainable transformation of cities: in search of a viable balance.

On January 22, 2025, one of the key events in the calendar of the Polish Tourism Organization – Poland Convention Bureau (POT PCB) took place at the Copernicus Science Center. During the meeting, recommendations for Professional Congress Organizers (PCO), Professional Incentive Travel Organizers (ITC) and city and regional Convention Bureaux for 2025–2026 were ceremonially presented.

The Polish Tourism Organisation conducted research on travel plans for the winter season, which was defined as the period from December 24, 2024 to March 2, 2025. The aim of the study was to obtain information on how many Poles plan to travel for recreational and leisure purposes, as well as where they intend to spend this time - in the country or abroad, where they are looking for accommodation, in what standard and how far in advance they book their stay.

The Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards recognize destinations, hotels, restaurants, and attractions appreciated by tourists worldwide. In the 2025 ranking Kraków was the only Polish city to make the list.

The 9th edition of the prestigious "List of 100 Most Influential People in Polish Tourism" prepared by the Wasza Turystyka magazine took place on January 10, 2024. This distinction is not only a documentation of achievements, but also an inspiration for the further development of the Polish tourism industry.

We can safely call the past year a year of anniversaries - the Krakow Convention Bureau celebrated its 20th birthday, and three large conference facilities - TAURON Arena Krakow, the ICE Krakow Congress Center and the International Exhibition and Convention Center Expo Krakow - celebrated their 10th anniversary.
