Using public transportation during events
Organisers of conferences, congresses, cultural and sports events can take advantage of special rates on public transportation in Krakow.
Based on a 2014 resolution, the Krakow City Council introduced the possibility to purchase a so-called ‘conference ticket’ giving the right to travel with the Krakow Municipal Transport in accordance with the below tariff:

A group of up to 100 people is the basis for forming a group that is a multiple of 100 people. The fee for a specific number of people is calculated as a multiple of the fee for a group of up to 100 people with a discount of 1% for every 100 people rounded up to the nearest PLN 1.
For each additional group of 100 people over 5,000, the amount will be calculated with a 50% discount.
Environmentally and... budget-friendly
Getting around Krakow is easy using the city’s efficiently organised transportation network and constantly expanded and upgraded infrastructure. It is therefore worth switching from driving to public transportation also during conventions and conferences.
Public transportation in Krakow is among the most modern in the country, providing about one million rides daily, and 375 million annually. Passengers can use more than 630 low-floor and air-conditioned buses and more than 330 trams, almost all of which are also low-floor and air-conditioned.
With clean air in mind, Krakow also launched, as the first city in Poland, a regular line served by electric buses. There are currently 121 electric buses running across Krakow, and the MPK (the municipal public transport service) is also testing hydrogen-powered buses.
Offered by the City of Krakow, the conference ticket gives you the opportunity to use Krakow’s Public Transport in ticket zones I, II and III.
Using public transportation during events is also a budget-friendly solution for conferences. For example, for a conference lasting 4 days with 2,000 participants, the public transportation fare for the entire event is about PLN 9 per delegate.
How does it actually work?
Event organisers interested in purchasing a conference ticket should sign an agreement with the Public Transport Authority of Krakow. The PTA is an organisational unit of the Municipality of Krakow, responsible for organising, supervising and conducting matters related to mass public transport.
A link to the agreement is included below. It should be filled out in the areas marked in red, and a draft of the badge to be used by participants in the planned event should be shared.
The agreement can also be signed in electronic form by prior arrangement with the PTA.
After payment, the organiser shall receive a ticket in the form of a hologram sticker, valid for the duration of the event, which should be attached to the conference badge.
