On 24 November 2022, a group of foreign representatives of travel agents specialising in incentive tourism and tailor-made luxury travel visited Kraków.

In December 2022, the Kraków City Council established the Tourism Organisation of the Royal Capital City of Kraków. The initiative results from consultations with nearly 100 stakeholders in the Kraków tourism market.

We presented the conference facilities offerings of the City and the region at the most important European trade fairs and business meetings as an element of the project "Małopolska – Travel Destination", co-financed by the European Union within the Regional Operational Programme for the Małopolska Region 2014-2020.

The theme of this year's IBTM World in Barcelona was culture and its relationship with the meetings industry. Poland was represented at the fair by 16 partners. In total, the IBTM Trade Fair was attended by over 10,000 participants, 2,200 exhibitors from 150 countries worldwide, and according to the organisers, over 100,000 business meetings were held.

On 16–18 November, EXPO Kraków hosted the HORECA®/GASTROFOOD/ENOEXPO® Trade Fair – the largest meeting of the catering and hotel industry in Poland. More than 300 exhibitors, 8,843 visitors, training sessions, workshops, Master Class tastings, prestigious wine competitions and valued accompanying events, i.e. The Polish Roasting & Cup Tasters Championship and the Polish Venison Championship – this is how the three days full of impressions, new experiences and unforgettable emotions can be summarised in a nutshell.

As many as 18 people from Poland, including a Poland Convention Bureau POT representative, have been nominated to the "Eventex Index 2022 - Top 100 Most Influential People in the Event Industry 2022" list created by the Eventex Awards competition organisers. It will include the most influential people in the Event Industry.

Meeting and event planners across Europe are gearing up to spend more on events. They’re sourcing a greater number of in-person events compared to earlier in 2022. At that time, hybrid formats were deemed a safer option as COVID-19 still raged.

The increased activity comes despite increasing costs and short lead times. Suppliers should be encouraged that activity is well and truly bouncing back and can look forward to a busy 2023.

The former Main Post Office in the centre of Kraków, a beautiful and iconic building standing vacant for years, will soon gain a new life and become a hotel. There are also plans to open the hotel to residents and tourists, for example through a public observation deck on the roof, an open bar, a restaurant, a post office history corner, and concert and conference rooms.
