News from Krakow

Kraków was included in the so-called shortlist, i.e., the final stage of applying for the rights to organise the E-AHPBA Congress (European-African Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association) in 2025. Symposium Cracoviense together with the Ambassador of Polish Congresses, Professor Krzysztof Zieniewicz, have initiated the works aiming to bring this prestigious event to Poland, as they have applied for the second time.

The oldest university in Poland – Jagiellonian University – and the University of Warsaw are two schools which were again among the leading institutions in the ranks of the best universities in the world, in the top five hundred schools. The AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, on the other hand, once again ranked in the top eight hundred.

Future Meeting Space issues a new report called ‘Ten Topics That Influence Future Events’. The next report of the Future Meeting Space research project attempts to identify 10 main areas that affect future events and, as usual, is surprisingly accurate in identifying what will specifically affect the development of business events in the future. 

Until August 29, the Henryk Jordan Park will host events prepared by organisers of Krakow festivals and institutions. Krakow Culture Summer combines various summer attractions in the unique space of one of the most popular parks in Krakow. We still have a large number of cultural events and concerts ahead of us – from classical music, through pop and jazz, to electronics and film music.

A year after the premiere of Poland Online Site Inspection (POSI), a comprehensive online guide for meeting planners, the Polish Tourism Organisation - Poland Convention Bureau summarizes the project and implements two new categories: Incentive & Inspiration and Hybrid Meetings & Virtual Events.

The document inspired by ICCA’s Kaohsiung Protocol, for which the Polish MICE industry had been waiting for a few months, was announced in ICE Kraków Congress Centre on Tuesday 23rd March 2021. During the webinar, members of KRAKÓW NETWORK – a business initiative originated and organised by the Krakow Festival Office (KBF), the operator of the ICE Kraków Congress Centre – presented the process of elaboration and the main assumptions of the Protocol.
