This year’s event was held at the WALCOWNIA Zinc Rolling Mill – a unique former industrial facility in Katowice, which hosted the event for the third time, Previous Polish Congress Ambassadors Galas were held in the city in 2015 and 2019.

The Polish Congress Ambassadors Gala is the key event of the Polish Congress Ambassadors programme, run jointly by the Polish Tourism Organisation and the Polish Conferences and Congresses Association. The event integrates representatives of the meetings industry, academia and business.

For years, the programme has served to promote Poland as a venue for international congresses and conferences. It aims to attract congresses to Poland and to provide effective assistance for Poles active in the structures of international organisations, such as scientists and professionals in various industries, to attract such events to Poland.

The ambassadors are individuals who, through their activities in the fields of business, science, culture or sports, promote awareness of Poland’s strengths in international circles, thus playing a part in the choice of Poland as the venue for the next international event. To date, more than 320 people have received the title of Polish Congress Ambassador.

The recipients are selected by the Chapter, which takes into account a number of factors and criteria. These may include, but are not limited to, membership in international associations and organisations, the number of international congresses, conferences, or seminars organised and planned, and an overall assessment of the candidacy.
