The tourism tax is a type of a public levy collected in tourist towns, charged to those who stay there. Such levies are collected in most tourist destinations in Europe and all over the world.

The Krakow Fortress tourist program has been named 2023 Tourism Product by a Business Forum jury.

The program and Tourism Product of the Year symbol are intended to identify locations in Poland that are fascinating and worth seeing, and interesting tourism products and projects. The award is meant to emphasize tourism services and products of the highest standards, which guarantee the highest quality for customers. It is also intended to create and facilitate a positive message through cultural activities, both for the local community and tourists.

Poland went up three positions and was listed 20th in the latest UIA ranking – the International Meetings Statistics Report. In addition, three Polish cities are featured on the list: Krakow, Warsaw and, for the first time, Gdansk. The 64th edition of the report analyses nearly half a million meetings, organised in twelve thousand cities by more than twenty thousand international organisations.

The celebratory symposium at the offices of the City Council, featuring representatives of historic cities in Poland and elsewhere in the world, inauguration of the Europa Nostra Heritage Hub, or the opening of the exhibition on the Social Committee for the Restoration of Krakow Monuments with a debut film screening – these are just some of the events being held to mark the 45th anniversary of Krakow being entered on the UNESCO List of World Heritage Sites, which will be held from 7 to 9 September 2023. ECAI is Europe's leading venue for artificial intelligence research and one of the most important AI research conference series in Europe. With more than 40 years of tradition, the conference brings together leading representatives from both academia and industry.

Four rides on the summer trains, over 2 000 kilometers, almost one 000 travelers, millions of participants, over sixty stars and special guests, and finally – one welcoming Lesser Poland. These numbers show the magnitude of this year’s “Be our guest! Visit Krakow. Explore Lesser Poland” program, an initiative organized by the Malopolska Tourist Organization (Małopolska Organizacja Turystyczna) and the radio station RMF FM  in cooperation with the Lesser Poland Voivodship and the City of Krakow.

In less than a month, the Thirteenth Assembly of the Lutheran World Federation will take place in our city. The gathering, scheduled for 13-19 September 2023, will be hosted by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Poland. The organising committee is supported by the Evangelical Parish of Kraków.

The scientific potential of Kraków’s universities can be used to strengthen Kraków’s position as a place for organising congresses, conferences and international artistic events. The unique nature of the capital of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship is becoming increasingly popular with tourists from the Arabian Peninsula, who are more and more visible the streets of Krakow.
