7. BNP Paribas Green Film Festival

The BNP Paribas Green Film Festival is an international environmental film festival held in Krakow since 2018. It is the only environmental film festival in Poland, and one of the largest in the world. Each year, during the seven-day festival, approximately 50 films entered in the competition, and dozens of other films, are shown.

Reasons for decarbonisation in the meetings industry

On 2 July 2024, Krakow5020 and the Carbon Footprint Foundation together held a press conference “Reasons for decarbonisation in the meetings industry?” at the ICE Krakow Congress Centre. The conference was a chance to present “Decarbonisation Strategy. From WHY to Offset.” This document was recently prepared by members of the Krakow Network, an initiative that brings together representatives of the MICE industry in Krakow.

Mercure Krakow Fabryczna City receives Green Key Certificate

The Mercure Krakow Fabryczna City hotel, a part of Accor Group, has joined a small group of hotels in Poland with Green Key certification. Green Key is an international certification programme for tourist facilities that meet international criteria for environmental responsibility, fostering environmental awareness among consumers and employees, and cooperation with the local community. It is a promise given by hotels to their guests that a particular facility will take steps to protect the environment.

Mayor of Kraków signed the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact

Our city has joined 240 metropolises from 74 countries that recognize the importance of creating a sustainable urban food systems. Joining the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact (MUFPP) will enable, among, others future development of Kraków food policy based on the rules of green procurement and delivery executed by municipal institutions. Creating a city farm for Krakowians is planned to be the next step.   

Bus stops, bicycle infrastructure and P+R sites – open data published by the Public Transport Authority

The “Open Data” tab can now be found on the website of the Public Transport Authority (ZTP) in Krakow. All users can browse information related to the authority's operations. The database will be reviewed and updated on an ongoing basis.
